Revision Rhinoplasty
Hi, this is Dr. Nakao from Nakao Plastic Surgery.
Today, we have a case of revision rhinoplasty.
The patient had previously undergone nasal septum extension using ear cartilage and nasal septum cartilage resection after a nasal septum fractured deviated nose.
Because of the lack of nasal septum cartilage and the thick nasal skin, we chose to use rib cartilage for nasal septum extension.
The tip of the nose was raised.
Rhinoplasty was performed on the dorsum of the nose using crushed rib cartilage. Rhinoplasty using autologous tissue carries the risk of resorption.
We reduce this risk of resorption by mixing the cartilage with PRF plate-rich fibrin, which has been submitted to the Certified Special Committee for Regenerative Medicine.
Nowadays, rhinoplasty with autologous tissue is performed more often than before.
Prosthesis is also a good material.
We will explain the advantages and disadvantages so come and consult with us to determine the best method for you.
