Nasal Septum Deviation – Nasal Reconstruction
2024.12.06
Hi, this is Dr. Takashi Nakao from Nakao Plastic Surgery.
This is a nasal reconstruction surgery for nasal septum deviation.
The nasal septum or the nasal pillar is dislocated and highly deviated to the left or right.
Here a new nasal septum was created by "extracorporeal septoplasty" using the patient's rib cartilage.
This procedure is difficult to perform unless the surgeon is familiar with handling both the external nose and the nasal septum.
In many cases, the cartilage of the nasal tip is also deformed and reconstruction of the tip of the nose or nasal apex must also be considered.
This is the biggest reconstruction surgery in nasal septum deviation surgery.
