Diagonal View of Facelift 1 Year Postoperative
This is Dr. Nakao from Nakao Plastic Surgery.
Here is a diagonal view comparison of before and after facelift surgery one year after surgery.
The face line is improved and the vertical wrinkles in the neck are also improved.
The facelift surgery method performed here is a Deep Plane Facelift surgery.
The skin is incised in the hairline and the subcutaneous skin is peeled off.
Once the skin is removed from the corner of the eye to the jawline, we go under the SMAS, the fascia of the face.
The SMAS is then dug out and peeled off up to the laugh line.
This is called “deep planing” because it involves digging under the SMAS.
We peel off around to the laugh line so the ligament is detached.
If the ligament is left in place, it will cause regression even if the SMAS is pulled up and the face is lifted.
This is why we prefer to use this method.
